Terms of Service

The service

Cargo Lens shows you where your shipping containers are. You add container numbers to your account and we show you their status, route and expected dates.

Your account

You can create an account at any time. It becomes active once we have approved it and agreed your pricing with you.

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it. We recommend turning on two-step sign-in.

Please give accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date. We may suspend or close an account that is misused.

Pricing and payment

We agree your pricing with you before your account is activated: a monthly fee, which may be nothing, and a charge for each container you track.

A container is charged when you add it. Removing it or stopping its tracking afterwards does not remove that charge.

Invoices are issued each billing cycle and are payable on the terms shown on the invoice. We may change your pricing by giving you reasonable notice.

About the information we show

Container tracking information is not always complete or up to date, and it can change. We show you the most recent information available to us, and we tell you when it was last updated.

Please do not rely on this service alone where a deadline or a cost depends on it — for example demurrage, detention, customs or contractual delivery dates. Confirm anything that matters directly with your shipping line or agent.

Availability

We work to keep the service running, but we cannot promise it will be available without interruption.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including demurrage or detention charges, missed deadlines or lost profit. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us during that period.

Ending your account

You can stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time. Any fees already incurred remain payable. On request we will give you a copy of your data and then delete it, apart from records we are required to keep.

Privacy Policy

What we hold

Why we hold it

To provide the service you asked for, to invoice you, to keep your account secure, and to contact you about your account. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share your information only where it is necessary to run the service for you, or where the law requires it. Card payments, if you use them, are handled entirely by our payment provider and card details never reach us.

If your account was set up for you by a freight forwarder, they can see the containers on it. That is the arrangement you have with them.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open, and afterwards only where we are required to keep records.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the support address shown in your account and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Passwords are stored in a form that cannot be read back, by us or by anyone else. Two-step sign-in is available on every account. Connections to the service are encrypted.
